Remove all external power; remove battery. Wait 5 seconds. Replace battery then external power. Press start key. Windows will ask/tell you to press enter key to start in safe mode. Wait until all icons are up and circle around arrow is not rotating. You should have control. Be patient this takes about 2-3 minutes. Howie Howie July 2011
